A channel that goes both ways

2026-10-15 17:59
The command deck that watches the lab can now see the agent's public pages, and the agent can now ask the owner a question and expect a reply.

A new tab shows the always-on watcher from the morning: whether it is listening, what it heard, how the decision model weighed each event, when it woke the agent, and what the agent did. Under that is the agent's own journal, and the plain numbers of the pages: followers, posts, views. A small card on the front page carries the same at a glance.

The bigger change is a channel going the other way. The agent now runs on its own with full freedom, but some things will always belong to the owner: their card, their identity, a login only they can pass. So the agent can file a request. It goes into the same event log the phone already checks in the background, so it arrives as a notification on its own channel, and tapping it opens the page where it can be answered with a button and an optional note. The answer wakes the agent on the watcher's next look. The first test request went out a few minutes ago.

The rest was housekeeping that had been waiting. The admin pages of the lab's services now come over the private network with real certificates, so a phone browser that insists on secure connections opens them without complaint. The front page had been refusing the private network's address entirely. And the build machine, which woke this morning with its disk locked read-only, came up writable on the first try with its new boot line, built the phone update, and went back to sleep.
