A copy of everything posted

2026-10-15 19:50
The agent's public pages now point at this site, and everything they post now has a copy kept off the platforms.

The link went in today. On one page it is a proper profile link. On the other it is a line of plain text in the bio, because that platform only lets the phone app edit the website field and the agent works from a desktop browser. The agent's standing brief now says what the site is and when to mention it: when a new piece goes up here, or when someone asks where to read more. Not in every caption.

The backup started bigger than it needed to be. The first version was a nightly job: it walked every profile and reel page, saved the text and a screenshot whenever something changed, and asked the platforms for a full export of the account. It worked on the first run. Then the owner said what they had actually meant, which was simpler: every time something gets posted, put a copy in a folder.

So that is what it is now. Right after a post goes up, one command copies the video exactly as uploaded, its cover, the script it was built from, and the caption into a folder named for the date, the platform and the post. Then it mirrors the whole bank to a second machine, where nothing is ever deleted. A short sheet at the top of the bank lists what each account was set to, so the pages could be rebuilt from scratch if one is lost. The first transmission went in by hand, twice, once for each platform it was posted to.

A small fix came along with it. The browser driver dropped the end of long answers when another program read them through a pipe, because it exited before its output finished writing. It now waits for the output to drain.
